  • Do you take insurance?
Lucia Health does NOT participate with any insurance company at this time. While that may make you sad, it provides affordable one to one manual therapy services focused on YOU and there will not be any crazy paperwork and signing to do. Cheers for investing in your health and not being governed by insurance. Some insurances are catching up to the times and beginning to reimburse for "alternative" or "complimentary" services, or you may have an FSA or HSA that can be used. If you are interested in this, you will need to check with your insurance company if this is a possibility. IF your insurance company partially or fully covers "alternative" or "complimentary" services AND if you choose to submit to your insurance for reimbursement for services, please let me know so proper paperwork can be provided. Please note that if you plan to submit, you will need a doctor's prescription. Let's do the math... Add your copay for your doctor AND your copay for a week's worth of physical therapy or other visits for the issue you are dealing with. It is VERY likely that just one weekly visit with me is less than that weekly total. In the end, you likely will be spending less and saving time. Yes, I suggest lifestyle strategies for in-between sessions, and those do not include 3 sets of 10 anything. Life already puts enough on our plates. When you are healing, you don't need more stress or more on your plate.
  • How much does a session cost?
Lucia Health offers affordable care and payment plans are available upon request. Cash and check are accepted. Returned check fee is $20. Credit cards are accepted. Cost will vary on the time and type of service you receive. In general, the cost of services range from $40 to $125.
  • How long are the sessions?
Sessions will vary in length depending on the service. For example, massages can be 30, 60, or 90 minutes. Bowenwork sessions can be 30-60 minutes depending on procedure and processing time. On average, please allow at least 90 minutes to 2 hours for your appointment to account for time to discuss your concerns and payment processing. Please allow up to 2 hours for your first session for education and explanations and any questions that may arise.
  • How many sessions do I need? / How long before I feel a difference?
Great questions! It depends on what you are dealing with and how long it has been going on. My hope is that you will feel better quickly. I value the "little" wins - sleeping better, more relaxed, can get dressed easier - as progress and not to be easily dismissed. If you are having pain and discomfort, usually one session is not enough to address the complex layers of the body. Additionally, pain and patterns can exist for several weeks to years, thus a few to several sessions will be required to decrease pain and retrain movement patterns. The goal is to have you organized and supported to find your way in the world. We try for 1 time a week and give you ways to support the work during the week in between sessions. Eventually the weekly sessions can be spaced apart as your body adjusts. For this purpose, there is a 3 session package available. If you are seeking manual lymphatic drainage for post surgery care, several sessions per week is ideal until swelling is under control.
  • What do I wear or bring to my appointments?
If you are receiving a massage, wear comfortable clothes to the appointment. If you are receiving manual lymphatic drainage massage, Bowenwork, craniosacral, please wear or bring loose fitting clothing as the treatment can be done with a person fully clothed. There is a bathroom as well as the treatment room you can change in.
  • What do I need to do before my first visit?
It would be great if you could, print and fill out the intake form and bring it with you. This will expedite the appointment.
  • Who will I be seeing?
That would be me. I am a one woman show for the time being. Check out my bio here. We'll chat about what is ailing you, discuss your intake form, and I will assess you in various ways to see how your body decided to work for you. (Your body doesn't work against you, it works for you using the smartest work arounds.)
  • What is your cancellation, late/no show, and payment policy?
Life happens, I get it. Cancellation Policy: Unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone's life. In my desire to be effective and fair to all clients, please notify me by phone or text a minimum of 24 hours in advance of your appointment if you need to cancel. Failing to do so or "no showing" will be addressed. If you made your appointment online and it is more than 24 hours before your appointment, you can change it online as well.
