Skin & gut health

Hey there!

As you may know, I suffer from long term GI issues.  Having GI issues can affect your skin because the skin, brain, and gut came from the same layer of developing tissue when you were in your momma's womb.  You may have heard that if you have a leaky gut, you have a leaky brain, and the skin can be affected too.  I have experienced skin issues, not just my face, through the years and it took me way too long to make that connection.  Additionally, having gut issues may accelerate aging skin!  If you do not have these conversations with your dermatologist, do some research and talk to your doctors and other skin care professionals about it.

For me, I try to use the most chemical-free and fragrance-free products and try to keep my skin hydrated as much as possible, both from the outside in and visa versa.  On my body, I mostly use coconut oil and castor oil (lymphatic reasons). And on my face, I used various products over the years but nothing consistent until a milestone birthday, if you know what I mean.  I was not a makeup kinda gal so now I try to make my skin care part of my self-care.

When it comes to skin health:

- your diet & hydration matter.  (Think veggies and lots of them!)

- your skin care products matter. (Please no harsh chemicals!)
